People have always been making every effort to make life easier and more convenient . According to a piece of news reported by Chinadaily, Shanghai is now home to a 24-hour vegetable vending machine. The vegetables sell for about RMB3 for 500g on average, and the price of some vegetables will be 10% to 20% lower than the market price. Customers can purchase the vegetables with cash or pay online and buy the vegetables by scanning the QR code posted on the machine. The city plans to install 200 vegetable vending points in communities next year. The advantages of such vegetable vending machines are obvious. It will make it more convenient to buy vegetables if there is one in the community. People don't have to go to the vegetable market after a day's busy work. The ways of buying and paying will be greatly favored by young people . Human cost is replaced by machines, which will certainly make it possible to lower the price to some extent . It will be great if people can buy fresh vegetables at a reasonable price. But some people may worry about if vegetables sold in the vending machines are fresh enough. What if the vegetables rot away ? As I know ,many of my fellow-townsmen work as greengrocers in Shanghai. They will face the problem of losing jobs once this project is carried out smoothly. As for me, I guess I will not buy vegetables from the machines. I prefer to buy in the markets since I can compare the prices and the quality of the vegetables and I can usually buy some bargains. With the popularity of machines replacing manpower , there is less interpersonal communication than before. Buying vegetables in the market can make me feel that I still live in a real lively world and I like chichatting with the vendors and enjoy the stories of different people. It's much more amiable to contact humans than the cold machines.
